Having a strong database of leads and prospects is one of the best marketing strategies that a small business can use. But how do you build a quality subscriber list? Simply putting a “sign up here” button on your home page is not likely going to get you the best results. Lets take a look at simple strategies you can use to build an email list that other businesses will envy.

Great ideas Leah. I particularly like the Social Sharing and Incentives. Thanks for sharing on Bizsugar.com

Thanks for these tips. Thinking about when I sign up for newsletters the key is how good the content is, and so don't want to miss it + reassurance my email will not be sent anything else other than what I sign up for - and then is nice to get something exclusive or as a bonus that I would not get if just used the RSS feed or visited the site. I think that incentive is a nice touch, but would not be more important that great content ongoing.

Hi Leah, I've used an incentive and it's proved very successful for me. I would never have thought of the QR quotes. That's a novel idea. Thanks for sharing.

Take care,

D.

Hi Leah, Great tips and I'd love the idea of offering an incentive for signing up - I've seen this be very effective!
