I do believe organic traffic is the best. I, too write for my readers and I don't pay much attention to seo. Also, I don't believe in putting all my eggs in one basket. I try to use other methods to get traffic as well. Thanks for the great blog post.

Hey Sherryl, I originally started off as an SEO guy and I find that its very important when you solely depend on it. Which is just a bad idea. That being said, if traffic from search engines is just one of the ways that you get traffic, then it can be very helpful.

Thanks for weighing in on this Mark. I think keeping SEO in mind is a good idea while writing for your readers. I don't spend a lot of time on SEO but being conscious of it, helps keep me focused on my topic and it is a way of driving traffic to my site.

I have started working really hard since 3 months to be getting more traffic from Google search and it works, even though sometimes I do get 30 to 50 organic traffic from google daily. I know I don't have to worry about Panda.

That's great that you don't have to worry about Panda Valentine. I don't worry about it either but I have heard of bloggers who have noticed a decrease in traffic. It's possible that it was caused by another factor though and Google is just getting the blame.
