Martin, please remember where I'm from, that we more or less invented capitalism, that I own and run businesses. With all of that said: we have 20% of our population completely uninsured medically, and an economy where over 30% of the GDP is eaten up BY medical costs. Socialism isn't completely without merit as long as it's ... managed (ha!).

And don't GO PATS me; I'm a long-suffering Jets fan!

Jeff: I am an American in spirit (studied and worked in the land of opportunity) and I am a radical for capitalism, based on rational philosophy.

The issue of socialized medicine, I hope that ad-hoc organizations like Americans for Free Choice in Medicine and Freedom and Individual Rights in Medicine will be able to spread better ideas.

I am sorry to hear that you are "suffering" from Jet-lag! ;) I know that Gary Vaynerchuck has the same "problem," and he doesn't like the New England Patriots for some reason. I learned about American football, during my studies in New Hampshire.

I have friends who believe in various stages and forms of socialism, sure. Heck, the National Football League does! (http://answerguy.com/2011/02/02/bill-maher-business-change-socialism-capitalism-nfl/)

Jeff: Ask your friends to come to Sweden, and I will show them what socialism has "done" for about 50 years...

Regarding NFL, I say only: Go Pats! :)

Hi Martin.

It does make me smile when my socialist friends think and act like capitalists ... ;-)

Do you have socialist friends? I try to stay away from the leftists. I am a "poor" capitalist, giving moral support to the creators.

It was French merchants that came up with the word, Laissez-faire capitalism!

Jeff: 50 million French could be wrong! ;) Thanks for stating: "Profit-making entities are smarter than governments and the people that work for them." I am glad to see that Amazon and Aereo are fighting back! More power to them!
