I love the way you have written this David. And of course all valid points. However, although I thought the part about long posts turning people off was true we have found over on TweakyourBiz.com that that's not always the case strangely enough. I guess it's down to content most of the time though. Thanks for sharing on Bizsugar.com

Some good fundamental tips that amazingly many bloggers still don't seem to get.

The point about the long posts, however, is a bit of a balance. I think a post can be on the long side (ie 800-1200 words) as long the info is engaging and/or very useful *and* it is ascetically pleasant to the web-trained eye.

Agreed. I will gladly read LOTR over and over, and The Wicked Years and The Hitchhikers Guide to Universe. But don't give me a long text about moto-sport. You have to now your audience.
