I was reading Problogger the other day and they had an interesting point about creating discussions on your blog. One of things that Darren mentioned was creating a discussion post in hopes to create discussion.

I think youtube comments worth it. They most people I know read first the comments before watching the video and clicking the link of the official site.But of course the very significant factor is to have an extraordinary or unique video to catch more viewers.

I think it depends on the video. Some may read the comments first, but it's hard to say for sure.
