Don’t just play around with SEO, you can’t afford to do that today. There have been too many gamers and algo chasers who have gone before you for someone relatively new to SEO to come along, try similar tricks and expect different results.

Now that Google has been unleashing its Panda updates with a vengence, there may be many more people getting caught in this trap... but the truth is that some of these "tricks" can't be avoided. As much as Google keeps saying that quality content and a good user experience will win out, it doesn't always go that way. The proof: there are still many low-quality sites as well as big-corporate ones enjoying some great search exposure.To be successful over the long-term, one really needs to provide good content, but also be in touch with the changing winds of search and Internet usage.

Hi Adam, if you are suggesting that SEO tricks or trends are required to compete with low or high quality sites, I disagree with you - unless of course your eye is on the short term.
