I guess the question I have is whether these efforts are likely to be implemented from the corporate brand level or from individual franchises. Also I'm wondering why the need for special social media managing tools for franchises as opposed to the ones every other small business is using. Lastly, when I hear people talk about hundreds or thousands of social media outposts, it REALLY makes me nervous. This is probably too much to manage even for a huge corporation and it strikes me that franchise owners would be better off localizing and simplifying their social media efforts anyway. Let whoever is working the drive through window or the front register Twitter about experiences during the day or people they meet. Keep things simple. It's too much to ask from big corporations, right?
