When you make the distinction between quality traffic and quantity of traffic, it really rang true. You can have all the traffic in the world but no engagement, which really is pointless in the end.

Fantastic blog commenting strategies. I think that leaving blog comments is one of the BEST things you can do to cultivate a real sense of community around your blog and brand. Hello Heatherstone,

I don't have any favorite technique here because it depends on where I am commenting and the blogger with whom I'm interacting. So, it all depends. Argumentative is bit overused but many people do it wrongly just to grab the attention of others. That's why I say, it's important only to "Disagree at times, when needed". Not just to catch the attention of others.

Here at BizSugar, we certainly know that nothing is more certain to kill a sense of online community than commenting that fails to engage -- except perhaps no commenting at all! I'm wondering if you have a favorite technique here that you find works most effectively...or if it depends upon the situation and upon where you are leaving the comment. I find the argumentative approach -- disagreeing with someone simply to get a reaction -- a bit overused. Your thoughts?
