Net neutrality is a divisive issue that has the potential to affect all Internet users, including online consumers and retailers of every size. The FCC now has the power to regulate the Internet like a public utility and legally enforce Net neutrality across the web. This controversial move was passed by the FCC with a 3-2 vote in order to give the FCC a proper legal basis to ensure Net neutrality regulations will stand up in court. The issue is still far from being permanently resolved and bears close watching, but for now Net neutrality regulations are officially in place.
