I'm a bit late posting this but would love to get a discussion going on this topic in the bizSugar community. Gov. Ed Rendell of Pennsylvania and Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger of California were interviewed by ABC recently and among comments about the health care debate and a jobs bill invariably started talking about how to repair the economy. It often amazes me that businesses, particularly small businesses, are rarely interviewed on such subjects except when portrayed as victims awaiting government help. According to Schwarzenegger it is the responsibility of government not entrepreneurs to create jobs and Rendell, through an interesting turn of phrase, insisted debt is equivalent to investment and necessary for the economy to improve. Thoughts?

"Arnold has been living with Democrats too long" - LOL. The thing is that legislators want to prove they are doing something. Sometimes, though, "doing something" means having the self control and foresight not to interfere.... Because after all, the rest of us just end up paying a lot more in taxes and it depresses hiring by small businesses.

I can't get over why the media persists in portraying small businesses as incompetent "children" needing help.

Arnold has been living with Democrats too long. He's lost his sense of what capitalism is all about. No wonder public employees are bringing the California economy to its knees. It's all those jobs government has created. After all, "public" jobs are the only ones that government can create.
