I'm not sure if there is really a good choice for businesses this election - but this article makes a few good points about how Obama might not be the best choice.

I took a close look at this article and I'm not sure how the author can say Obama will be worse for the average small business owner. Obama's plan actually affects most small businesses in a good way. Even the health care proposal would level the recruiting playing field since all employees would now have health benefits. The only negative I saw was the support for unions, although I personally don't have a problem with it.

On the other hand, McCain's plan affects very few small businesses in a positive way. How many of us need a tax credit on R&D or a technology deduction beyond the current deduction up to $250,000. Even his ban on internet taxes is a double-edged sword. I'm sure that most brick and morter shops aren't too happy about keeping a permanent ban on internet taxes. I haven't heard Obama's stance on internet taxes, so we're really comparing apples and oranges here.

"To encourage entrepreneurship, Obama wants to further develop a network of business incubators in communities throughout the nation with an emphasis on disadvantaged neighborhoods."

That is one benefit that could be great for entrepreneurs.

Interesting argument...I hadn't considered the small-business angle in the election before.

I wouldn't bet on it - honestly I think voter apathy is the best choice - but I think the article makes a few good points.

OK - but will McCain be that much better?
