Some people might be scratching their heads, wondering why I dreamt up a whole week to celebrate working at home. Well here’s why:
-Studies show that between 66-68 percent of small businesses are home based and yet the same studies show that there is a lack of government and industry support for home based businesses and telecommuters.1
- A recent US report on women in business revealed that while the number of women’s enterprises grew by more than 50% between1997 and 2011, in economic terms (revenue and employment) they have not changed significantly.2
-Another report by the US Small Business Administration (SBA) determined that more than 50% of all small businesses fail in the first year.3
