Ann Romney may have leapt to her own defense on Twitter and the Democrats may have been put on the defensive, but they needn't have been so. The Romney's credibility is shot because they are multi-millionaires. Ann could say she stayed home all she wants, but since it's a big difference staying home with the kids when you have all the money you need than when you're doing so, knowingly sacrificing a second income for the sake of the kids' upbringing, I don't think she could make much impact with her claims of motherly work. The only people listening to the Republican party these days are the extremists. I guess it would have been a great PR victory had anyone who mattered cared. The Democrats giving attention to it at all simply fueled her "victory", but in the end, after the primaries, Romney (if he wins) will still have to run against a president who if nothing else has credibility as a thinking person, an intellectual. And independents and career women with children like me can't be fooled by such a display. I think she gets a B-, and only for her quick reaction.
