Great article. For those of you who don't care about traffic, please stop guest posting. For the rest of us, thanks for the reminder about how important it is to keep up with guest posting. I will not mention the different communities that I use (I will mention BizSugar of course) but you can generate a lot of traffic from guest posts as long as you follow the guidelines of the websmaster and adhere to white hat SEO techniques. I believe that you will also start to see people coming back to guest blogging with the type of hit that was taken in the last Google algorithm update. Many people took a hit from their "not so friendly" SEO techniques and will have to come back to the things that work the best (like guest posting).

Howdy Ehsan,

Again this may sound a bit old school to some, but, just like blog carnivals or other techniques you seem to hear less about in the age of social media, I think it makes a certain amount of sense. Most importantly we have to remember that blogs are the original social media and that engagement in this case takes place on someone's site not on a third party network like Facebook or Twitter.
