The biggest difference is the amount of resources available to both. Small businesses have to use their limited resources judiciously and find innovative ways to attract the right customers with the right medium and at the right price.

Small businesses can also spend more time in building close relationship with their customers so that they don't need to spend as much in traditional marketing. They can continue to attract existing loyal customers and acquire additional ones with word-of-mouth.
