I'm pretty amazed sometimes how few people think in simple terms of what they need to do to get customers. It seems to me that sometimes there's a disconnect between putting their product or service together and just simply telling people about it. When I started my last business, I sent out e-mails to everyone I knew (not overly promotional just basically explaining what I was doing and telling them that if there was anyone they knew who needed the service they should contact me). Believe it or not, I got results. Then, of course, with targeted comments (the same thing just kind of explaining my service) in targeted social network pages, more results. I'm not putting this out to brag. Things get harder after the first few clients. You can't necessarily reuse the same channels or annoy people. But think about who you need to talk to and just do it. It's been my marketing plan so far.
