I'd say that all three are needed in order to run a successful blog (in terms of quality traffic and income). However, I'm a big fan of posting pillar content. I've found that posting pillar content is bringing me most of my viral traffic via social media and recommendations from top bloggers.
I have a little of everything on my blog, including the recent YouTube vid posts that I've started at the beginning of the year to bring in even more traffic and audience engagement.
I will say though that I could use more review posts on my blog. In fact, I plan to do 2 review posts very soon and I believe they'll perform well.
Again, excellent post. You're the first I've seen on this topic and it's well written. :)
