A lot of people who relied on Google's Keyword External Tool weren't happy about it's disappearance but I’m here to show you that there are alternatives if you don’t like the new Keyword Planner and today I’m going to show you some of them.

Adam: Thanks for the info. I did follow a specialized search blog some years ago. I will try to find the link and send to you. He had some interesting ideas on this topic.

No worries Martin, there's a good TED video about filter bubbles, it's from a while ago but still an interesting video to watch: http://www.ted.com/talks/eli_pariser_beware_online_filter_bubbles.html

Adam: Yes, you are right about that. AdSense is their cash-cow. Do you think personalized searches will be something for the future?

Personalised search has been around a while, there's over 50+ factors that will alter the results you get from Google - right down to the web browser.

I do think there's going to be much more focus on this in the future - not that I want there to be.

I don't like being forced into a filter bubble but that's just me.

Adam: Have they lost their focus on search, do you think? The good thing is that the market will take care of the situation! :)

I think they are still focused on it but generating more revenue from Adwords is their biggest priority.

The keyword planner is still pretty good, not as many features so not a complete loss.

Adam: Do you know why Google snapped away the Keyword tool? Thanks for sharing the post with alternative to Google's tool!

I'm not sure, Martin. I have been wondering that myself but Google is making a habit of discontinuing the good stuff.

Or buying out services and just letting them rot (e.g. Feedburner).

It was a shame they did discontinue it because it was incredibly useful.

Keyword research is still of the first and most important things anyone can do before starting any Internet business and, it's also all about having the right tools to carry it out. Thanks for sharing this with the bizsugar community.
