Do you think that Jonathan’s Card is a slick marketing campaign endorsed by Starbucks, or is it the real deal? Have you heard about the Italian tradition called caffè sospeso? Do you use your mobile phone for buying stuff on the go?

Duncan,

Thanks for the explanation of the word, Gubmen. Gubbe is geezer in Swedish! ;)

Interesting, Martin. I assume the Gubmen tax it at the normal rate that the cup of coffee would bring?

What if the picture is worth More than the coffee - how do they tax it then? (This is my problem with barter - it's fine, but if the Gubmen find out, they'll expect a piece of the action.)

Duncan

Ha!! I love it! Gubmen is my euphemism for the "government". Somehow, it seems fitting.

Hi Martin,

I have no specific suggestions for you here but I think the Starbucks question is an interesting one. If nothing else, it would seem to be a pretty revolutionary way of making a purchase.

Heather: Thanks for your input. I think it is an interesting experiment. The question is if the big coffee chain sponsored this campaign in any way?

@Lyceum Starbucks pulled it.
