I take the bigger words in the Wordle are the ones used more, so you can check keywords, or (as you said) if a word is overused or underused.

That's right. The more prominent the words appear in your Wordle graphic, the more often they're used in your text. It's a great way to make sure you're hitting your keywords if you're writing for SEO - or the right keywords. It's great for any writer though as it reveals when you've used a word too often.
I recently wrote a short blog post - under 300 words - and 'scour' came up 3 times. I had no idea I had used it more than once. Believe me, that's not a word you need use often.
