What's your business' story? Uncovering it can help you become more personal in the eyes of your customers, and can go a long way toward building trust with them.

In order to have an exchange you have to have two parties and they have to understand their value.

I will stop the egg & bacon jokes after we have had done a cooking video together! ;) Think the Swedish Chef from the Muppet Show...

Susan: It is both about you, me, myself, ego (I in Latin). Without you as a producer, the consumer can't buy anything (I have worked as a purchaser for long time, so have the right to say this! ;) ). It is an exchange of values.

I love your storytelling. Could have egg & bacon with that? :)

I will bookmark your post and do some introspection. And I have to get John Jantsch book...

Do get the book. His books are amazing. You're right; you have to have the "I" to have the story, but it shouldn't center around you.

Enough with the eggs and bacon jokes! No matter what time it is, you make me hungry.

Hi Susan,

It's so important to think about the customer when telling your story. Sure you're passionate about widgets or whatever you make, but why should they care? Are they passionate about widgets too? Or better yet, do they really, really need them? Perhaps part of that story should be about why they do. Thanks for sharing with the BizSugar community!

Heather--

It's easy to get sucked into what YOU want, but it's never about you. It's about your customers. What story can you tell that they will identify with?
