Hi, Lyceum! Thank you for your comment. Cash mobs are a newer concept, but it's not a term I came up with. It's a concept used by supporters of local businesses to help 'mob' small businesses with cash -- and hopefully get them new customers and the profit they need to stay open. It's derived from 'flash mob.' I get what you mean but this is one of the good mobs! :)

Shannon: Do you have another word for "mob" that is charged in a more positive way? My first association that comes to mind is a mental picture of a gang / pack that is related to the parasites of a criminal mafia, trying to rob businesses of their hard earned cash...

I understand the idea after I read the post and I get a nice, warm and fuzzy feeling, but it would be great with a new word for this concept. :)
