I'm in Glendale, CA and there are several smaller businesses on a street called Brand near here. There are also many pockets of small businesses in neighboring communities like Eagle Rock, Silverlake, and Los Feliz.

It's seen a lot of growth in the past view years since launching. In 2015 spending on that day reached $16.2 billion so not too shabby. Anecdotally I saw a great majority of businesses in my area participating last year and I think it will grow even more this time around.
