Is there anything really unique or different anymore? Maybe there is, but it’s probably very rare and there is probably someone out there who is selling something that though different achieves the same result that you do but in a different way.

One of the best approaches I have found to separate from competition selling the same products is through customer service. When you provide top-notched service and don't give the customer to go anywhere else you have the customer for life. This is approach Amazon and Zappos has taken. They are selling pretty much commodity products that many others sell as well. It is through customer service that they keep customers coming back.
