Online business is often touted as the easy route to the fast buck, where everyone can have a piece of the pie.

Strange…I don’t think I’ve ever heard this said in the offline world.

All good points Jackie. The head and the heart must be in sync, unfortunately many go with the passion without thinking the practical side through.

The other point is that too often they follow what others do and are afraid of being or doing things differently. All the ones you mentioned as well as Walt Disney looked at opportunities from a different perspective and not as a sheep which is often seen today and then they wonder why they do not succeed.

I’m absolutely with you on that one Susan. While you can watch and learn from others, mimicking just makes you a poor second.

Originality is even more important now, when we have access to so much more information. Its challenging to find your own special space.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Jackie,

"Cruising the streets in their rumpled trench coats, cigarette draping loosely from the corner of their mouth, coaxing you to their shiny vehicle… smirking ever so slyly."

Ahh...creepy!

Spidey-senses. Bullshit. Shit. Freakin.

I love your writing style. It's real and it's genuine!

Great article and true, not everyone is cut out to be in business. Deciding whether or not it is a good fit can boil down to practicalities, and sometimes the "mushy shit" as you call it, the ideals, dreaminess, etc. needs to take a backseat.

Glad you enjoyed Yoni. How I think and talk just seems to spill out onto the page with the aid of some heavy editing...sometimes a little too much drivel :)

I do think the emotional stuff is important, because not enough people pay attention to what they really want to do. No good breeding horses if you love hamsters...don't know what my fixation with hamsters is at the moment.

Thanks for commenting Yoni, you always bring another dimension to the conversation.
