This is totally true! I once had a lead for a service that I offered but I wasn't able to reply to them immediately. After a few days, I decided to get back to that lead and what he told me bummed me down, he said, someone already offered me that earlier than you.

That's the problem, I think we are also guilty from time to time but it's vital to get the habit of chasing up and answer all of the leads queries.
