I love reading research studies that help me drive businesses forward. As a contract COO I’m always worrying how to optimize the performance of the team in a fun and productive way. Over the next few posts I’m going to dive into my favorite business authors who use research to make a point.

You did an excellent job with this post. I also enjoy reading and reviewing research articles. I was really thrilled to see someone discussing Malcolm Gladwell. The tie in with worker disengagement makes a lot of sense. Think of a worker who is totally devoted to work hard all day for $X, then he finds out someone he feels is lazy is make $2X. Now we're likely to see his behavior change rapidly. How fairly the employee views the workplace, the leadership, the rules...it all factors into how "legitimate" he sees things. I look forward to your next post.
