Many home business owners are unaware that their rental, homeowner, or personal auto insurance policies do not fully protect their home business. Thanks, Heather.

I think of the two main reasons why home-based business owners sometimes forgo insurance, that first one about not really thinking that they need it in the first place, is more prevalent. People are running their businesses from home, they're trying to save money, and they don't even consider insurance as a necessary business expense. In many cases though, it's a big mistake.

There are some really important considerations in this post, Adam; in particular, just the realization that home or renter's insurance won't cover your small business operations. This might be common sense, but I wonder how many home business owners really understand it. Thanks for sharing this very important information not just on your blog but with the entire BizSugar community.
