Yesterday, the Conference Board of Canada released a study showing that Canadians took an average of 9.3 sick days in 2011. That amounts to over $16 billion in lost revenue.

While the financial costs of absenteeism can be staggering (see above), there are greater long-term costs that leaders need to be aware of.
