Thank you for presenting this new research. I have found it very fascinating. I believe people who stress over finances will still stress over their finances after the raise, possibly even more so. This is simply my opinion, but I have found that employees who can't manage their finances get themselves into trouble, regardless of how much money they have. I could hand them $1,000 and they would find a way to be broke by the end of the week.

They will eventually need to do some follow up on their findings, but I would use caution before consolidating jobs or cutting any benefits. I feel these actions would have the greater chance of stressing out employees and cancel any benefit you might receive from providing raises. The article is very well written and thought-provoking.
