IBM has launched a significant global request for proposals (RFP) aimed at transforming education and workforce development using artificial intelligence (AI). This initiative, part of the IBM Impact Accelerator, seeks collaboration with nonprofits and government organizations, including academic institutions, to create innovative solutions that address the growing skills gap in the job market. The RFP is open now and will accept submissions until March 25, 2026.
The pressing need for this initiative stems from the swift evolution of job roles in today’s economy. The IBM Institute for Business Value recently indicated that 67% of executives believe job roles are changing rapidly, with many of the skills currently in demand expected to become obsolete by 2030. Selected organizations will receive a two-year, pro bono technology and implementation grant that provides access to a suite of IBM resources—ranging from AI models to cloud technology and support from a network of IBM experts. Additionally, strategic ally EY will assist in advancing these solutions, particularly for communities facing economic and environmental challenges.
