A blog about a recent trip to Ghana from "Entrepreneurs at ASU" (Arizona State University) raises the question of whether social entrepreneurship is the next small business trend. Sponsored by GlobalResolve at ASU, an initiative aimed at bringing economic development and other tools to the developing world, the trip looked at many factors connected with development of small villages including the resources needed to develop sustainable economies in fields like agriculture. This is essentially the idea of creating scores of sustainable small businesses in underdeveloped countries to spur economic and social growth. How could entrepreneurs in the developed world help facilitate this process which promises to be potentially more successful than many other forms of aide?
Is social entrepreneurship the next small business trend?
