Quiznos Subs, the franchise chain out of Denver, is in trouble again. This time-according to the Wall Street Journal, they missed a loan payment. Not. Good.

I've eaten at both, and Subway is a lot better. In my opinion.

My wife likes Quiznos.

Well, she used to.

The one close to us closed 2 years ago.

Heather: Thanks for your input! I know that Quiznos is pushing on the toasted side of subs. Subway have become very popular here in Gothenburg, but it didn't start out as a overnight success. The first location had to close down due to hard competition with the nearby restaurant at IKEA.

What is the main difference between Quiznos and Subway? Why is one sandwich chain successful and the other not?

Hi Martin,

I don't know whether I've personally ever eaten at Quiznos and don't know much about their business model beyond what I've heard second hand...and from Joel's posts. I think I recall a relative looking into a franchise opportunity with the company once, but that's about it. Hoping Joel will take the time to field this question for the benefit of the whole BizSugar community.
