Some businesses, such as consultants, may be able to get up and running on a wing and a prayer. More typically, it costs money to get things set up right before the doors open for business. Certain costs may be deductible.

I like being able to deduct costs. However, one should be careful what one deduct, as sometimes the famed business lunch and company retreat (that wasn't really that) may land you into hot water. Won't the 180 month period be harmful for immediate financial growth?
