I just saw an interesting article about a few American doctors who are by-passing the whole system: insurance companies, Medicaid/Medicare, etc, and are choosing to work with patients directly. This is closer to how it *should* be:

Adam: Thanks for the link. I will check it out. I agree with your comment. It should be a direct trade between the doctors and the patients. No middle-men and bureaucrats in the mix.

Michael Cahill: No, I am not ready for Obamacare (read: socialized medicine). Luckily, you could find real arguments from ad hoc organizations like Americans for Free Choice in Medicine (AFCM) and Freedom and Individual Rights in Medicine (FIRM).

I have seen the disaster what the red tape and bureaucracy have caused in Scandinavia.
