Thanks for your comment Martin. Although SalesForce did not list themselves specifically as a customer service marketing channel they likely produced this infographic because they want to be seen as more of a tool businesses can use to enhance their customer service and marketing efforts. That is typically why brands sponsor content like this infographic. And as a tool that helps you manage your customer database (both existing & prospects) I can see how it benefits the effort.

As marketing director for a small business myself I HAVE to say SureShade - they are a startup in the boating industry and realize word of mouth is so important for growth so we make customer service a top priority. Outside of my company, I have been super impressed with 4imprint - we tend to order last minute items from them for events and my rep is super responsive... makes all the difference and I always go back to them based on their great service (and products). In an industry where their business could be considered a commodity, its their service that makes them stand out.
