Google Conversion Optimizer analyzes your historical data (and a number of other factors) to predict the likelihood that your ad will lead to a conversion. The goal of Conversion Optimizer is to get the most conversions given your Max CPA (the most you are willing to pay for each conversion) or Target CPA (average amount you’d like to pay for a conversion).
Based on those goals, the system determines – in real-time – the best CPC (cost per click) bid for your ad for a particular auction. You have the option to focus either on conversions or converted clicks.
